New chief for Ericsson Malaysia
Telecommunications equipment provider Ericsson has appointed Jan Signell as head of its Malaysian and South East Asian operations effective June 1.
He will take on the role of Ericsson South East Asia president and Ericsson Malaysia country manager, succeeding Kristian Tear, who will assume a new position within Ericsson.
Presently based in Stockholm, Signell brings with him 20 years of experience from various positions within Ericsson.
“It is certainly a good time to be back here again, especially when there are so many exciting developments in the region," Signell said.
He said that one of his focus areas would be to help operators profitably tap into the low-ARPU (Average Revenue Per User) segments, in recognition of the fact that South East Asia comprises several high-growth countries characterised by large populations with a growing youth segment and a high proportion of low-income users,
